Dr. Gage is a graduate of NYU Washington Square College, where he graduated Cum Laude and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He graduated from the NYU School of Medicine in 1976. His residency was served at Mt. Sinai Hospital of New York and he completed a sub-specialty fellowship in Endocrinology, Metabolism, and Nutrition at St. Luke's Medical Center. He is currently a Board Certified Diplomate in the specialty of Internal Medicine and in the sub-specialties of Endocrinology, Metabolism, and Clinical Nutrition.
Dr. Gage is affiliated as an Attending Physician at Lenox Hill Hospital. He is also an Associate Professor at NYU Medical School. Dr. Gage has authored numerous articles and research papers on obesity which have appeared in prestigious medical journals. He is a member of professional organizations - The Obesity Society, FACP-Fellow of the American College of Physicians, ADA - American Diabetes Association, and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Association. Dr. Gage is on the Medical Advisory board of Laniado Hospital Diabetes Center in Israel and Camp Shining Stars, a weight loss camp for adolescents in North Carolina
The Permanens™ Lifestyle Change Program (PLC) and Permanens™ Weight Management System (WMS) were developed by Dr. Gage. WMS was created to induce permanent weight maintenance. Dr. Gage is the author of the book, The Thinderella Syndrome: A Practical Guide to Individualized Permanent Weight Loss. Dr. Richard Janof graduated from George Washington University with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Biology. He also graduated from New York Chiropractic College with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree and is licensed to practice Chiropractic in New York State. In addition, Dr. Janof graduated from New York University with a Master's degree in Clinical Nutrition. He is a Board Certified Diabetic Educator and a New York State Licensed Dietitian-Nutritionist. Dr. Janof is a member of Kappa Omicron Nu Nutrition Honor Society and Phi Chi Omega Chiropractic Honor Society.
Dr. Janof is a member of the American Diabetes Association, the American Association of Diabetic Educators, and the Society for Nutrition Education.
Dr. Janof provides nutritional and behavioral counseling on a group and/or individual basis. He also provides exercise counseling. Dr. Janof teaches classes for the Permanens™ Lifestyle Change Program. He trains diabetic patients on the use of diabetic insulin pumps and educates them on the use of pump therapy. In addition, Dr. Janof sees patients for Chiropractic therapy.
Robin B. Colton, MS, RD, CDN graduated from Cornell University “With Distinction”, as a member of Kappa Omicron Nu, Golden Key, and Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Societies. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutritional Sciences with an Exercise Science Minor. She went on to pursue her Master of Science degree at Columbia University, where she majored in Applied Physiology and Nutrition and completed her Dietetic Internship Program. She is an American Dietetic Association Registered Dietitian, a New York State Licensed Nutritionist, and a NASM, ACE, and AAAI/ISMA Pre & Post Natal Certified Personal Trainer. She is a member of the Greater New York Dietetic Association, the Sports, Cardiovascular, and Wellness Nutritionists (SCAN) and Pediatric Nutrition (PN) Dietetic Practice Groups (DPGs).
Robin spent five years working as a Senior Clinical Nutritionist at Beth Israel Medical Center and the Continuum Health Partners Hospitals in Manhattan. She assessed and counseled patients of many disease states in a variety of medical, surgical, and intensive care units. Robin was the inpatient and outpatient Pediatric Nutritionist at Beth Israel, and spent three years as a Master Trainer at New York Sports Club. Robin has been quoted in various magazines, including Today’s Dietitian and FitnessRx Magazine for Women. She was interviewed for CBS Sports News Inside Fitness television and radio programs. She also appeared as an exercise model for CBS2 and WB11 Morning News.
Robin provides medical nutrition therapy, as well as behavioral and exercise counseling for individuals and groups. She helps patients understand and implement therapeutic, weight-loss, and sports performance eating plans. Robin also teaches classes in The Permanens™ Lifestyle Change Program.
